Charming Hamina Archipelago |
|
Hamina has a vast naturally beautiful archipelago. For recreational sailors Hamina is a fascinating place to visit and a popular turning point.
Our trip begins with a visit to Ulkonuokko, the biggest natural port of the Gulf of Finland. From there we head to Tammio and its idyllic island village.
In Tammio we explore island's nature and fisher village. Inhabitance of the island is rooted in the 16th century and current village milieu including courtyards is mostly from 18th century. We also visit the island museum maintained by the village committee. The museum gives a good picture of how life in this historical village was and is. Before starting our journey back we enjoy snacks in the natural shelter provided by the beautiful Village Bay.
On our way back we have possibility to stop by the beautiful Rakinkotka Island. There you can (for extra cost) have delicious traditional meal, relax in the heat of a traditional smoke sauna or spend an unforgettable night in the atmospheric fisher village. You can even spend your night in the small "love-nest" of Lammassaari.
On the trip we use seaworthy Korsö 1100 P -boat with hull length of 11 m and width 3,6 m.
