Fishing trip to Rakinkotka with the island master

We gather at Vimpasaari or Tervasaari in Hamina.

We enjoy a welcome toast ja prepare for our sea crossing. Depending on where we start from, crossing to Rakinkotka takes about 15 or 50 minutes.

After leaving any unnecessary luggage in the Rakinkotka fisher village, we course our seaworthy and spacious boat (Korsö 1100 P) towards the best fishing spots Hamina archipelago has to offer. Depending on the season and the weather we may fish with spin rods, troll with lures or do net fishing. Other methods of fishing are also possible with extra cost.

Camp fire coffee and salmon sandwiches at the lean-on. If we've had any fisherman's luck, we can taste our self-caught fish too.
Fishing continues or alternatively we hike the island's nature trail, spot for birds or play forest golf in the alder grove. We also offer a VIP visit to the depths of the forest.
18.00 We bathe in the wood heated seashore sauna, or (for extra cost) in the unique "rock smoke sauna". The bravest of course dip in the sea in between the heat of sauna.
19.30-

Supper at the lean-on.

For starters we recommend tomato-basil soup, for main course salmon or whitefish freshly smoked in wood heated or grilled on camp fire with tartar sauce, poached vegetables, camp fire potatoes and freshly baked bread.

Drinks: beer, red or white wine, shots, water. For dessert camp fire pancakes and jam, coffee and coffee bread.

Rest of the evening is free time together. Sauna is also warm.

Return to Vimpasaari.

If the group stays overnight in Rakinkotka (linen on the house), seafood breakfast is served at the following morning at Lohitupa beginning at 8 am ja return to Vimpasaari at 10 pm.

 

Recommended clothing::

We recommend warm and when necessary water proof clothing and shoes. Our boat is equipped with floatation suits, rubber boots and gloves for everyone.

Minimum charge is for 10 persons. Price includes mentioned fishing services and for example insurance. Drinks are added to the final bill.
For extra cost:
  • Staying overnight at the Rakinkotka fisher village and seafood breakfast (includes bed linen and towels)
  • Heating of the "rock smoke sauna", 7 hours
  • Visiting the salmon trap
  • Long line fishing for salmon, maximum group size 12 persons, duration 6-7 hours
  • Transport by helicopter to the Rakinkotka helicopter platform
